Indonesia and the IDB Group have a long history of partnership, since Indonesia joined the Bank as a founding member in 1974. The IDB Group portfolio has been dominated by project financing, followed by trade financing, and technical and special assistance operations.

The inauguration of IDB Group Country Gateway Office (CGO) in Indonesia in 2014 has marked a turning point in the IDB’s efforts to get closer to its stakeholders. The Office facilitates and galvanizes the cooperation of IDB Group with all the stakeholders in Indonesia including the Government, private sector, academia, civil society, and development partners. The CGO Indonesia team is also ready to enhance cooperation with Indonesian business communities and pursues enhanced and strengthened cooperation of Business Association, Banks Association, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and all Financial and Commercial Institutions with all other IDB Group member countries.

The IDB Group operates in Indonesia through partnership program titled Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS). MCPS is a strategy document that guides the operation of the IDB Group in its member countries over the medium-term (3-5 years) specifying comparative advantage for the IDB Group, the role played as well as the financing instruments. It aims to enhance the IDB Group synergy and development results by aligning member country priorities with the IDB Group Vision 2020 and capacity.
